How to upload the perfect video size

Hello!! For the benefit of my future members who are going to upload videos or get them from youtube, here's a tip to get them to the perfect size!

Step 1: Choose a video to upload!

The interface is super easy to use now, considering an IT noob like me can do it too! :)

Step 2: Look at the top left corner, click HTML to change the width to 500 and height to 304 (note: you have to change the numbers twice). Erm I'm not sure how to show pictures anymore so just figure it out yourself... and VIOLA! you have the perfect video size for the blog! Here's one for you to enjoy..

Spectrum goes to Singapore National Cheerleading Competition 2012!

SNCC 2012 just took place over the weekend (24-25 March 2012) and some of us from SPECTRUM went down to take a look! Spectrum people spotted on the ground includes Ah Fai, Kin Wei, Suelin, Yirong, Augus and Lawrence (Day 1) and Veron, Mathew, Jeanette, Suelin, Yirong, Augus, Sherene, You Jin, Hui Yang, Fiona and Jia Wei (Day 2). Of course, our very own Spectrum cheerleaders were in action in SNCC 2012, with Michelle competing in the all girls group stunt category for Legacy, Da Jun competing in the mixed group stunt category for Wildcards, and Hann Bin, Felicia, and Gerard competing in the team open category for Wildcards as well!

WildCards and Spectrum on SNCC Day 2

We were all very inspired by the massive and ridiculous stunts done by all the teams in SNCC 2012, and it really got some of us to think about joining next year! Maybe, just maybe, Spectrum can send an 'Old Bird' Team next year and there'll be one more team for the Open Category... :P

WHY WE NO BLOG?

Looking through my seniors' comments make me feel remorseful, let me start to keep the Spectrum spirit up again before I graduate! :)

Hall Olympiad Opening Cheerleading Competition 2012

Our annual HO competition took place A MONTH AGO at NTU Sports and Recreation Centre. The theme for this year's competition was retro toons, where each hall has to present a cartoon in the 1980s to 1990s. The level of competition definitely went up a whole notch this time round, with a higher level of cheerleading stunts difficulty, more elaborate costumes and props and more jaw dropping mascots! SORRY AH DEE we did not manage to keep the title of best mascot this year... :(

Anyway I am sure you guys know the result of the competition already, the full list here is provided by Wildcards!

Videos can be found online, here's the top 3!

Hall 9: Bomberman!

Hall 13: SPEED RACER

Hall 1: Doraemon

As you can see, we improved from 3rd position to 2nd position this year! For course I would have to thank a lot of people for making this happen, but I guess I should pace my blogging so that you all won't be bombarded by too many posts at one time and then we died off for a long time again. Damn this blogging thing is hard to do! Till the next time! (soon!)

KLA Tencor Dinner and Dance!

Happy faces performing for such a wonderful company! Let's hope to spread the cheerleading love to more people! :)

It's been a tough journey to HO I must say. Firstly, facing the problem of shortage of bases. Second, it's my EVER first cheerleading competition as to date. Its was really a nerve-cracking experience, never thought i would felt that way. I'm really thankful to the new members of team spectrum who are willingly to sacrifice their time and believe in us. it's nonetheless fun and worthy journey with you peeps.

When I first stepped into Spectrum, I'm really fortunate to have Gerard, Dajun, Yanheng, hannbin and Vincent to guide me along the way. Being with the senior bases and coach with valuable experiences, they guided me in using the proper techniques and instilling the safety mindset in me. I must say I'm a very slow learner, which is why I really appreciate their help in whatever ways they gave. It's nice knowing all of them, every single one in spectrum. Choonfu, weekeat, Samuel, youjin, and all. (:

I'm just a very simple guy, volleyball has always been my passion for the past 7 years. I never thought that I will become a cheerleader, shouting 'GO, FIGHT, WIN', tossing girls in the mid air. Only when Jen, my army buddy invited me last april to try out cheerleading with wildcards, did I had the first contact with cheerleading. I would say it was an interesting experience to train with them.

When they said: "Let's do handstand for a min warmup" I was like:"WTF? U serious?" I never did that before. How do I go up? Will I break my wrist? OMG, can i just stand there and skip this? And there they go trying their ways to push me upside down.. Warm up over. I still remember that training chaang kicked me and slapped my arms, asking me to use legs instead of arms to give more pop. Overall, It was really a memorable experience to train under him. As time goes by, I managed to learn bit by bit.

And here I ended up in NTU spectrum. Let's go for the win! ^^

Cheers!
Augus
