Event Title: NBA Madness Asia Tour 2007 (Singapore)Event Location: Velocity@NovenaEvent Date: 31st Aug, 1st Sept, 2nd Sept.This is a yearly NBA event that tours the region. This year will be the 1st time NBA Madness is coming to Singapore and Singapore is the last stop for this Asia-wide event. The event will showcase the NBA Playoffs trophy, New Jersey Nets Dancers, the New Jersey Nets Mascot, Sly and an NBA player will also make an appearance. This is a great opportunity for the local cheer teams to meet with professional NBA cheerleaders. NBA Cheers is the ONLY cheerleading competition held for the NBA Madness Asia Tour and will be featured on ESPN and covered by the local press and media.
The competition format is as follows:
Rules and regulations will be that of Cheerobics Open Category, except for the following changes:
Each team is to have 8 - 12 members
Each routine cannot exceed 2 minutes (including cheer)
The cheer theme is "NBA Madness Asia Tour 2007 - Singapore"
Scoring
The score are computed exactly the same method as Cheerobics, with the penalty deducted from the averaged score from the judges.
On Day 1 (1st Sep), teams to compete as per usual, with comments made verbally by the judges (ala Singapore Idol style).
On Day 2 (2nd Sep), teams will perform again to sieve out the top three teams. Scores are accumulative (Day 1 and Day 2 scores are added up).
The top 3 teams will perform a third time (on same day), where their scores will be added to their accumulated scores from the first 2 performance. The 2 teams with the highest accumulated scores will be the winners.
The top 2 teams will stand to win the following prizes:
Champion: 2 x 1 night stay at Marina Mandarins
1st Runner-Up: 2 x Marina Mandarins $100 F&B voucher
