This is of course the centre of attraction of Disneyland. The castle is large but only the first level is accessible. There is a shop which sells jewellry and glassware. one expert is there making the glassware behind a glass counter for all to see. then there is another person who is using a cutting machine which can engrave your name on the glassware which you wanna mark. picture frames or glasses... too expensive for me to buy... one glass which has a nickey face costs up to 3k yen which is about S$40.
This is the entrance to the magical theatre where the genie show is performed. the story is about a boy who found the genie lamp and became friends with the genie. then there is this evil magicican who took the lamp away and wished that he becomes the best magician in the world and then locked away the lamp. the boy then stole the key and unlocks the genie and then the genie plays around with the magician. funny story and impressive 3D effects. Even the chairs that we sit on moves at the part when the genie flies around on a carpet.
This is the entrance to the underwater world. this is supposed to the the kind of the little mermaid. sorry i forgot what is his name. but then the inside of this building is decorated to look like underwater. so the place is quite dark and i waswnt able to take nice pictures of the area. all the fault of shaky hands and slow camera shutter speed. a few rides and shows inside but nothing of the high adrenaline sort.
Well, this is mickey and pluto! so many ppl were pulling mickey to take picture with him. suprisingly, most japanese do not really know any other disney characters other than mickey. asked some of the OL (office lady) in my office if they know any other characters other than mickey and 90% of them says no. Well, i dont really know what is so nice about mickey.. he would be one of the lasts ones on my fav list but then he is so popular in jap or rather others r unpopular. stitch is so much cuter =P funny to see people pulling mickey around. really pity the guy who is inside the mickey costume. have to wear a heavy and hot suit, act cheerful while trying to fend of hordes of gals pulling him around till he nearly fell down.
This is ToonTown where mickey and minnie's house is. basically a place for small kids to play in. nothing interesting other than nice decorations and play houses. on the top of the fountain is roger rabbit. there is also a small train which goes round ToonTown at slow pace.
Of course you all know that this is the sakura tree. This year is hotter than usual so the sakura trees around the area bloomed 1 month earlier than usual. I did not even get to see snow in Tokyo which usually will have a few days of snow. But I will eventually get to see it when I go skiing. Anyway, the flower is really beautiful. It is a tradition for japanese to go to parks full of sakura flowers to have a picnic with friends and family. The call it 花見 (hanami) which means seeing flowers but then they actually just get together to eat and drink. Japanese are a bunch of heavy drinkers. There are still some bald sakura trees though. Usually they will only bloom for about 3~4 weeks and then the flowers will drop off due to the stong winds from the change of season from winter to spring. Oh, there is also the problem of pollen from all the flowers. I have seen in the news showing pollen in the forest which makes it look like haze. many have allergic reaction to the pollen which happens every year. dunno how they survive it.
This is the mountain in DisneySea. Sorry cant take a nicer photo. once again, due to shaky hands and long shutter time. There is a ride at the mountain which is called "Journey to the centre of the earth". Really intersting.. it starts off as showing the different level of the earth and the crystal formations and creatures which live in there (of course fiction) and then it ends as something like a roller coaster ride (but no 360) a must ride.
This is actually a ride called "Tower of Terror". Looks more eerie during the night with the full moon above it. sorry for the lousy angle. This is the only place which i can find a place to put my camera and take a steady shot. The ride starts with the people being led into a circular room and in front is a photo of the building and a doll on a stand by the side of the picture. then there is a narrator who tells the story of how the doll took control of the owner of the house and all that. well, that is all i could understand because it was told in japanese. then we are led into this room which has a few rows of seats. after taking out seats the room starts to ascend and then at the top, there is an opening right in front of us and we can see outside of the building towards disneyland and we could see the night lights. everyone was very impressed and as the typical japanese exclaming すごい。。きれいな。。 "Impressive... so beautiful.." and about 1 second after the nice view that the whole room free falls and everyone starts to scream. It was so funny to see people in awe one second and screaming the next. Something which you would have to experience yourselves to know how funny it was.

Well, all in all, it was great fun there. should visit this place if you do come to japan. One thing i was impressed is the ride attendants repeating the rule and caution of the ride before each group getting on the ride every single minute. if the attendant is stationed there for 4 hours, she would be repeating that string of caution 240 times and they all speak it at light speed which i could not catch wat they r saying all e time.
